Timothy Tierney, MD

Dr Timothy Tierney is Board Certified in Family Practice. Dr. Tierney graduated from Georgetown University Medical School in 1984. He completed his Family Practice Residency at Dewitt Army Hospital located in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He spent 7 years practicing medicine in the US Army as a Family Physician, with tours of duty in Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey, before coming to the Malden/Melrose area in 1991 to open the practice in Malden.

In 2001 Dr Tierney decided to enter solo practice, and created Main Street. In 2004 the practice moved to 675 Main Street, Melrose. Dr. Tierney was the Chairman of Family Medicine Department at Melrose Wakefield Hospital from 1998 through 2008. He was also President of the Melrose Wakefield Medical Staff from 2008 to 2010. He has also served as the Chairman of the Melrose Board of Health from 2002 to 2011.

Thomas Salines, Nurse Practioner

Tom was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, but grew up and attended high school down in South Carolina. He moved back to the northeast to attend college, at Salem State University, where he achieved a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, with a minor in Psychology.

Tom began his medical experience working as a registered nurse at Melrose Wakefield Hospital from a medical floor to the operating and recovery room. He also served as a visiting nurse throughout the community. Other experience includes working on the Hematology/Oncology Unit at Brigham’s and Women’s Hospital.

From there, Tom made the decision to go back to school and explore other areas. He attended the University of Massachusetts-Boston, where he would achieve a Master’s in Science degree and graduate in 1998 as an Advanced Certified Nurse Practitioner.

That same year in 1998, Tom joined Main Street Family Practice. With over 20 years’ experience in the field and over 10 years’ experience with MSFP patients, Tom looks forward to continuing his service of providing quality healthcare to new and existing patients alike.

Jolanka Pride, Nurse Practioner

Jolanka Pride is a Board Certified Adult and Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, joining Main Street Family Practice in the fall of 2015. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, and her Bachelor’s degree from Salem State University. Jolanka started her healthcare career in 1990 as a Registered Nurse in Romania. Since then she worked in Pediatrics, Emergency Department, Operating Room, Medical Surgical units, Rehabilitation, Home Care, and healthcare management in the United States, Romania, and Switzerland. She speaks English, Romanian, Hungarian fluently, and German at conversational level.

Marie Grasso (left), Kristen Grasso (right) Office Management

Marie Grasso has been the practice manager for Main Street Family Practice since 1996. She has been overseeing all staff and daily operations at the practice for over two decades. Marie will be transitioning into retirement soon, whilst stay an active, vital part of practice operation until that time comes.

As Marie makes her transition into retirement she has been training her youngest daughter Kristen Grasso, preparing her for the position. As the acting practice manager, Kristen is responsible for overall operations at Main Street Family Practice including staff and day to day operations.
